Entrance Essay for Family Nurse Practitioner Program

Many people suffer from kidney disease and their lives depend on the dialysis. The main role of those who prolong the life of the kidneys of the patients is put on dialysis nurses. This essay is an attempt to describe what I do as a dialysis nurse and to delineate my career goal, which is becoming a nurse practitioner.

As part of the healthcare team, I work in the dialysis centre. I was specifically trained in order to take care for those patients who suffer from kidney disease. As a rule, I usually check the signs of the patients for their disease assessing their conditions. I usually teach my patients regarding kidney disease the possibility of treatment. I also make sure that my patients are given correct treatment medications ordered by doctors. 

My other functions include evaluation stage of the reaction of the patients to medications and dialysis treatment.
